In 2008 Benito Rangel de Maria opened Monarch Contemporary, a gallery and studio space in Seattle’s Pioneer Square. The space served as a dynamic platform for Benito’s artistic and curatorial efforts. These included a wide range of curatorial projects and exhibitions with emerging and mid-career artists, including Arun Sharma, Tatiana Garmendia, Erin Morrison, Liz Tran, Silwia Tur, Bailey Russel, Remedios Rapoport, Dan Grayber, and Barbara Horiuchi, among others. The Seattle space was later succeeded by the current Studio Rangel de Maria.
